For the Forsyth County News
Danny McLaughlin
of Forsyth County
was the winner of
the Cumming
Chapter of the
Vietnam Veterans of
America’s drawing
for a SCCY
Industries 9mm
handgun during the
Cumming Country
Fair & Festival.
Proceeds from the
second annual fund
raiser went to the
chapter’s activities,
including support
for the Fisher
House, a national
organization that
provides housing
and other support
Fc;}‘fz;r-r-{ilvi-eé of those hospitalized at military and veterans’ hospitals.
Damien Waller, a freshman at South Forsyth High, is shown here draw
ing the winning raffle ticket to Billy Darby, chapter president.
HOROSCOPES by Holiday
study the position of
the sun. Of course,
today this is about
your emotional (not
your physical) land
scape.
VIRGO (Aug.
23-Sept. 22). What
gives you answers is
useless.The interest
ing thing is the ques
tion. What or whom
makes you ask ques
tions? Pursue that
instead, and you'll
quite enjoy the day.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct.
23). Before you go to
battle, you'll exhaust
every other choice you
have in the matter. Of
all signs, you realize
most that wars do not
bring peace to the
land; they only bring
vendettas.
SCORPIO (Oct.
24-Nov. 21). It's com
mon to be afraid of the
dark and even more
common to be afraid of
the light. That truth-talk
er you know will tell it
as he or she sees it,
however inappropriate
the statement may be.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov.
22-Dec. 21). If some
thing is knowable, it
might require trust, but
not faith. Focus on the
unknowable and note
your feelings and
thoughts. What would
you guess about?
What would you bet
on?
ARIES (March
21-April 19). Just
because you ignore
the facts doesn’t mean
they cease to be. Or
does it? You could
argue it either way
today, given that much
of what you ignore
drifts out like so much
flotsam and jetsam,
never to return.
TAURUS (April
20-May 20). You have a
desire to go some
where and dig for bur
ied treasure, so to
speak. And you will
indeed find it, just not
in the first, second or
third place that you
dig. Be persistent.
GEMINI (May
21-June 21). To kindle a
light in the darkness of
a bleak situation —
that's what makes you
feel useful, effective
and needed.The best
part:You'll do so more
than once over the
course of this day.
CANCER (June
22-July 22). Aim high
with your goals today.
If you shoot for the sun
and miss, you'll still be
better off than the ones
who shot for a bird on
the electrical wire
above the house.
LEO (July 23-Aug.
22). When you lose
your way, it makes no
sense to run faster.
Stop and consider the
path, look for signs,

CAPRICORN (Dec.
22-Jan. 19). There are
those who do exactly
what you forbid them
to do. If you don’t want
to do it and don't want
to hire anyoneto do it,
forbid a rebel to do it.
Done.
AQUARIUS (Jan.
20-Feb. 18).When you
think of goodness and
integrity, you think of
someone in the elder
generations of your fam
ily. Of course, the same
strains run through you,
and you feel that it's
your job to uphold the
high standard.
PISCES (Feb.
19-March 20). Your
movement expresses
your inner spirit. That's
why today people seem
to know things about
you that you haven't
told them. They aren't
mind readers; they are
body readers.

Doris was an active

her words. Throughout
her life she was focused
on humbly witnessing
her love for Christ and
her desire was for others
to experience that same
love. She had a gift of
seeing God’s beauty in
His smallest creations
