A Buford man has been
indicted by a Forsyth
County Grand Jury on
charges stemming from a
car crash that seriously
injured a 19-year-old
woman on Ga. 400.
John David Keasler 111,
27, faces six counts,
including serious injury
by vehicle, driving under
the influence and driving
Keasler was reportedly
driving a 1993 Ford
Explorer on Saturday,

Other than the store,
the surrounding area and
roads have several
upcoming improvements
- most notably the wid
ening of Hwy. 369 to a
four-lane road and the
addition of a new inter
change on Ga. 400,
which will become Exit
18.

lane turning right onto

“The area is changing,

community spirit that we
don’t forget what got us

According to the com
pany, the store will be
nearly 187,000 square
feet and will include gar
den and auto centers.
The development will
include 759 parking spac
es, out parcels for other
businesses and an eight
dispenser fuel station.

of way for the widening

“We have three green
houses on our property...
They need tremendous
amount of maintenance
and update for the things
that we want to do,”
Cheney said. “We're
interested in creating a
farmers market that we
would operate out of the
school. I know we are
very interested in helping
some of the food banks.”
The North Forsyth 400
Rotary Club also donated
$2,500 to the school for
the project.

at Johns Creek Elementary.
Kelly Mill Elementary asked about install
ing a traffic light or having a police officer
each morning at the intersection of Kelly Mill
and Chamblee Gap roads, while Matt
Elementary’s LSCs said it is moving forward
with improvement projects.
Settles Bridge Elementary’s LSC said it is
concerned about overcrowding from new
development in the area and that members
continue to be concerned with the school’s
early start in the year.
Sharon Elementary recommended bringing
back foreign language instruction to the ele
mentary level.
Shiloh Point Elementary’s LSC said it
wants more nurses in the larger schools, and
Silver City Elementary noted a parking bur
den due to increased enrollment.
Riverwatch Middle was the only middle
school to make a recommendation. The LSC
asked to add connections classes to support
high school courses and to educate parents
about high school pathways.
Graduation locations showed up in two high
school recommendations, with Forsyth
Central wanting to keep its ceremonies at the
Cumming Fairgrounds and West Forsyth High
wanting to consider the Verizon Wireless
Amphitheatre in Alpharetta instead of the
Infinite Energy Arena.
Lambert High School asked the board to
evaluate the impact of testing demands on stu
dents and for professional development to
include teacher work time.
Harrison said the board will vote in July on
their responses to these recommendations
from each LSC.
