Teen accused of threats of violence at school

Five Forsyth County High School stu
dents have been awarded best app created
during a 24-hour coding competition
called Code Day Atlanta. :
According to a news release from
Code Day Atlanta, Lambert High School
student Saketh Rayavarapu and South
Forsyth High School students, Sathvik
Kothapu, Nithya Gujja, Kavitha
Muralidharan and Vishwanth Kopula won
best in class for their application called
“Text Spam.”
The release stated that the five students
competed against more than 50 metro
Atlanta students for a full 24 hours of
coding overnight on Feb. 17-18 “in hopes
of developing the next trending mobile
app, video game or web application.”
“Code Day offers any student with an
interest in programming the opportunity
to learn how to create cool video games
and apps. The event helps students culti
vate and develop their interest in coding,
regardless of their experience level with
computer science,” said Yun Chen, senior
director, engineering, Lexis Nexis Risk
Solutions. *

transportation summit

Officials from several levels of govern
ment were recently in Forsyth County to
talk about one of the biggest issues in the
area: traffic.
On Wednesday, the annual transporta
tion summit was held at the Forsyth
Conference Center at Lanier Tech featur
ing representatives from local, state and
federal governments, who shared plans for
roads in the county.

detectives with the agency’s
major crimes unit, the 16 year
old was arrested in his home at
about 1:30 a.m. Thursday and
charged with one count of ter
roristic threats and acts. :
