Missy is the loving mother of Gian and
Kirthin Dev. Funeral services are pri
vate. Missy was a giving soul who went
selflessly through this life. Funeral

Massage permit suspended
Business allegedly
had no licensed
therapist on
premises

A west Forsyth business will
close for a week starting Monday
due to alleged violations of Forsyth
County’s massage and spa ordi
nance.
On Thursday, Forsyth County
Commissioners voted unanimously
to suspend the license of Perfect
Massage, located at 5910
Bethelview Road, Suite D, for
seven days beginning on Monday
due to a violation of the ordinance
requiring a licensed massage thera
pist to be on premises.

Shoeless man loses
car, gets DUI
On Feb. 16, at about
7:50 p.m. Forsyth County
‘deputies responded to the
Speedway gas station on
Buford Highway, after an
employee reported that an
older male suspect was,
“stumbling around the
store” with “no shoes on
his feet” saying that,
“someone stole his car.”’
According to the inci
dent report, the suspect
stated to deputies that he
could not remember
where he parked his dark
grey Mercedes Benz.
The report stated that
deputies quickly discov
ered that the suspect’s
vehicle was parked “on
the curb of the sidewalk
on the west side of the
Speedway building.”

Richard H. Walsh
Richard H. Walsh, age 80, of
‘Cumming passed away Jan. 12, 2018.
Dick was born in Huntington, N.Y. on
Dec. 4, 1937 to the late Edythe and Dr.
Joseph Walsh. He received his under
graduate degree from Providence
College and his MBA from The George
Washington University. He was a com
missioned officer in the U.S. Army and
a graduate of the Industrial College of
the Armed Forces. He received a
Certificate of Commendation while in
the Central Intelligence Agency for his
contribution during the Cuban Missile
Crisis. He later was employed by the
Department of Energy Strategic
Todd Levent. “So, I'll take the staff
recommendation ... that we sus
pend their [county permit] for
seven days.” ;
Officials with the business did
not respond to a request for com
ment on Friday.
The hearing on Tuesday
stemmed from a violation in
December, and the business had a
previous, similar violation last
June.
No one from the business was
present at Thursday’s meeting, and
staff said the owner had previously
said they would not be at the meet
ing.
In late February, commissioners
approved some changes to the
county’s massage ordinance, which
was originally adopted in 2015.
Since the original adoption of the
ordinance, several employees of
other massage businesses have
been arrested and at least two
licenses revoked by commission
ers.

A breath test performed
on the suspect later in the
evening resulted in a
blood alcohol content of

pects’ vehicle a mostly
empty bottle of lemon
vodka was found under
the driver’s seat.

notes that while transport
ing the suspect to jail, the
suspect offered the deputy

Batteries stolen
from cell tower
On Feb. 22, Forsyth
County deputies were dis
patched to the T-Mobile
cell towers on Peachtree
Parkway in reference to a
call about batteries being
stolen from the tower.
According to an inci
dent report, the complain
ant received an alarm via
email at about 1 a.m. that
the power box at the call
tower was opened. He
arrived at the tower 8 a.m.
and found that a combina
tion lock had been broken
off the power box for the
tower.
The report stated that
four Power Safe batteries,
worth S4OO each, were
missing from the tower.
The complainant said that
none of the batteries had a
serial number.
The report stated that a
camera from a business
adjacent to the tower
showed nothing suspi
cious. .

of Cumming.
He is survived by his wife, Judith; his
children, Caryn Crawford, Christen
Farmer, and Richard Walsh Jr.; and
seven grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass and Celebration of
Life will be held at the Saint Louis
Cathedral, New Orleans at 10 a.m. on
April 2, 2018. Burial will be at the
Georgia National Cemetery at a date to
be determined.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests
a donation to The Arc of the Emerald
Coast (Horizon’s Foundation).

Mitchell Frank Wilkie
Mitchell Frank Wilkie, age 47, of
Cumming passed away peacefully on
Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018. Mitchell had a
smile for everyone and never met a
stranger. He loved and was loved by
many. He loved hunting, fishing and the
outdoors. He was preceded in death by
his son, Heath Frank Wilkie.
. Survivors include his son and daugh
ter-in-law, Dylan Wilkie and Jillian
Edwards; parents, Johnny and Barbara
Wilkie; sisters, Rhonda Brannon,
Melissa and Bobby Amos; nieces, Janna
Galbreath, Leslie Collett, Jessica Amos,
Shawna Gilmore, Emily Amos; nephew,
Tyler Brannon; along with a host of
aunts, uncles, cousins and others that
loved him dearly.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m.
Saturday, March 3 at Hightower Baptist
Church with the Rev. Ronnie
McCormick and Rev. Gerral Richards
officiating. Interment followed in
Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery.
