Slover’s celebrate
70 f marri
Jack Gibson Slover Sr., and Rebecca Ann (Tolbert) Slover are celebrat
ing their 70th anniversary. They were married March 14, 1948 in
Paulding County.
They have two children, Jack G. Slover Jr. of Atlanta and Ginger
(Slover) Riggs of Gadsden, Tenn.
They are blessed with five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In honor of our parents we would like to share this:
God blessed you together these 70 years. o
Memories of much love, full of laughter and tears, children, grandchil
dren and great-grandchildren, family and friends.
A love for each other, a love without end through commitment and love.
God answered your prayers, you help those in need and always care,
May your blessings be bountiful and friendships grow. You are loved by
many more than you will ever know.

Randall Floyd Addis plead guilty to kidnapping and
assault charges in 1991. In September 1990, Addis
took 40 South Forsyth High School students hos
tage at the school before hostages eventually
grabbed his gun. At the time Addis said he was sui
cidal and “wouldn’t have shot one of those kids.”

There was a time when Forsyth County High
School, now Forsyth Central, was the county’s
lone high school, though that time was coming
to an end in 1987, as officials pondered a second
high school. South Forsyth High School opened
in 1989.
March 11, 1999 :
Forsyth County was in the running for the head
quarters of the then-NFC Champion Atlanta
Falcons. The organization ultimately decided to
open a facility in nearby Flowery Branch,
though a team official said, “a number of our
coaches and players live in Forsyth County””

Daves Creek Elementary School celebrated its
10th anniversary in 2006.

Couple celebrates thei
65th weddi '
Barbara and Herbert Metz celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary March 8.
They were married in Manhattan, Kansas. They will celebrate with a family dinner.
ANNIVERSARY
JD and Odette Reece
mark 60 years together
JD is originally from Romé, Georgia,
and Odette grew up in Gainesville. The two
met at North Georgia College in
Dahlonega.
After marrying, they moved to
Lawton, Oklahoma, where JD was in the
Army at Fort Sill. From there they moved
to Birmingham, Alabama, Rome, and then
Tucker. They settled in Cumming in
1983. They have four children, eight grand
children, two great-grandchildren and a
third on the way. ' =
They were married March 22, 1958 at
Grace Episcopal Church in Gainesville.
They will celebrate their 60th wedding
anniversary with family at their home in
north Forsyth County.

a four-story, 100,000-square-foot facility to the
- campus. Per the article, the facility was
planned for practices in OBGYN and pediatrics.
