the free citizens of North-America for

which they mean to publiih in this city on the following terms :
I. It (hall be printed in monthly numbers : the firft to
ap, ear on the fit ft day of October next.
11. Each number (hall contain three Iheets or forty-eight
pages of letter press, elegantly primed on a very neat paper,
of American mauufatfure, and to be adorned with two
engravings on copper-plate, executed by an American artist.
111. No endeavours lhall be l'pared to procure as great a
variety of original eflays, iuftrnclive and entertaining, as
the nature and extent of the work will admit. The number
ami acknowledged merit of the gentlemen who have pledged
themselves to furnilh their compolitions, inspire the fub
feribers with ey try sanguine expectation of acquiring the
pubju approbation, winch lhall he the fuminit of their willies.
IV. Price to lubfcribers twenty/hillings per annum. One
haifto be paid at the time of Aibfcribing, arid the other half
at the expiration of the firlt half yeat;.—Tonoh-fubfcribers a
quarter dollar each number.
Tins delign has been taken up, after mature deliberation t
we lhall not, therefore, railily abandon it. We are fully
dctci mined so to conduct the undertaking, as to merit the
public attention; for which purpose every exertion lhall be
made on our parts : *aud the s generous support of which we
have been allured, added to the high eltimation we have
conceived ot the taste, liberality and patriotic spirit of ouc
lelpeciablc fellow-citizens, julhfy our confidence of fnecefs,

Augusta Races.
THE AUGUSTA RACES will commence on the second
Tuefday in December next. The Jockey Club Purfs
of One Hundred Pound Sterling will be run fur the firft day,
four mile heats. A purse of Fifty Pounds Sterling the second
day, two mile heats ; and a purse of Thirty Pounds Sterling
the third day, one mile heats, agree..ble to the rules of the Club.
The following premiums will be given to the person or
persons producing iu market the heft flail fed beef, three
pounds; three heft muttons, thirty /hillings; and two belt
veals, twenty /hillings:
