IN COUNCIL, Nov. 13, 178 6. Upon a letter from George Handley, Esq. Infpeftoi-Gene ral, of the 12th instant: It is Ordered* That the Infpeftor-General be direfted and re quired to cause clear and perfect pay rcflls, in like manner as pointed ont in the duties of the Pay-Master-General, for all militia duties performed in pursuance of the orders of the Board of the 13th and 13th May, and 23d August last past, and the (aid service to be certified on oath by the refpeflive Captains or Officer commanding a party,and thereafter to be certified by the Commanding Officer in the refpeflive diftrifis, previous to the lame being received by him, and that he re port thereon. ’ That the Commiflary-General be direfted and required upon fuchreturns as aforefaid to certify the sum due for pro vision, (where fuchhave not been provided for) in confor mity to law, and that hf state and draVv the whole expendi- . ttfre iato one general aggregate, and report thereon. That the fame be publfthed. . • Extraft from the Minutes, JAMES S. E V C. THE INSPECTOR GENERAL will be to attend to receive pay rolls, &c. agreeably to the foregoing order of the Honorable the Executive, the beginning of De cember, at Augusta ; in the mean time they will be received by Captain Meriwether at that place. All demands against the Bate for Militia Duties performed, are requefied to be rendered in before the 20th day of December next, in order that estimates may be obtained, and report made thereon to the Executive before the end of the year. The Captains cf Commanding Officers of companies will observe to make out three copies of pay-rolls of the fame tenor ; infertiug at full length the name or names of all Officers and privates, with the date of time of entering on duty, as well as the time they may have been difeharged therefrom, or absence from service, together with the.time of service, the pay per month, the amount due to each perfoo and receipt. Extract from the Recommendation of the Honorable Board of Commiffiouers, to the Honorable Brigadier General Twiggs, dated at Shbulder Bone, Nov. 4, 17815. The Board requests the General will be pleifed to ex “ press the good opinion they entertain of the conduft of those “ Officers and foldicrs, wlit> conformed to orders ; but as 4 ‘ there were a few, who obferVed a different conduft, and “ left camp without leave—the Board cameftly recommend, “ that the General will order an immediate return to be “ made of the names of foch, to the Honorable the Execu “ live, in order that they may not receive their pay they have “ forfeited by their mifeondutt.” Agreeable to the above requiiion, the General will order a C.oyrt'lMartial to fit as soon as convenient, for the purpose of examining uito the conduct of such men and Officers, as come under the above defeription, when timely notice will be given for all tbofe, who have lawful excuses, to attend, and give them in.
