The assay matter, in the sum of ten thousand dollars, and two furetics each in the sum of five thousand duhars. The matter coiner in the sum of ten thousand dollars, and twofureties, each in the sum of five thousand dollars. And that the officers mentioned in this ordinance, as well as every other perl'on employed in tue mint, frail take and fubferibe the oath of Office, ettablifred by the resolve of the i4.fr March, 1786. And it is hereby further ordainedy That it frail be the duty-of the comptroller of the treasury of 'report monthly to-the commifiionera of the treasury of the United States, a ft ate men t of the mint accounts adjnttcd agreeably to the usual forms ; and if on such ttateinent or other infor mation it frail appear, that there has been any negletff, mis management or abuse of trust, in any of the officers mentio ned in the within ordinance, itttialfbethe dutyofthecom miffioners of the board of treasury to fufpehd such officer or officers and to report therepn specially to Congress. And it is hereby further ordainedy That fre copper coin fhutk under the authority of the United States in Congress assembled, frail be receioable in all taxes, or payments due to the United States, in the proportion of five dollars for every hundred dollars so paid.; but that no odJfcc copper eoin whatsoever fliall be receiveable in any ftaxes or payment whatsoever to the United States.
