Barclay, who is at this court, will end his negociations to the
full fatisfaftion of his Republic;—Peace being granted on the
fame terms which subsist between his Catholic Majcfty and the
Emperor.

to enter upon any thing, a-s peace was not at firft accepted by
the Porte.”

BOSTON, November 30.
ExtraSi of a letter from a gentleman at Portsmouth , dated
November 28.
ft The post from Portland has just informed me that a vefiel
arrived there last Friday from St. Croix; and that a few days
before she failed, a matter of a veflel arrived there from Port
au-Prince in five days ; who gave an account of its being funk
by an earthquake, and that it was judged seventeen hundred
fouls were loft.
“ It wasobjefted by some, that a person could not go from
Port-au-Prince to St. Croix in five days, the r apt. of the veftel
answered, that there was a gale of wind before the earthquake,
and that after it was over, the wind was Weft the whole time,
so that be had a fair w'ind from Port-au-Prince to St. Croix.
The accident happened about the roth of Otfober.”

Hepworth Carter, and John M'lnto.'h, jun. Efqrs. are Ap
pointed members of the Executive Council for the county of
Liberty.
John Berrien, Esq. is re-appointed Colleftor for the port
of Savannah', and Michael R udolph, Esq. is appointed Col
lector for the port of Sunbury.
At a Meeting of the Cincinnati, held in Savannah, at the
Coffee-houfe, on tine 28th of December lafty the following
Gentlemen were delegated to the General Meeting to be held
at Philadelphia in May next, viz. MAjor William Pierce,
Major Nathaniel Pendleton, Major John Lilcas, Major Janies
Armstrong, and Capt. Sullivan.
Rice, by the London Price Current of the 17th October
last, was from 265. to 28s. per cwt. and Carolina Indigo
from 3s. to ss. pd. per lb.
The lloop Betsey, Goldsmith; from New-York for Savan
nah, is put into New-Providence in distress.
Capt. Philips, who arrived atCharlefton the 23d ult. from
Georgetown, informed, that a sloop from Euxuma, with
2000 buftiels of was totally loft on Georgetown bar. One
of the men was drowned. She was commanded by Archi
bald M‘Fee.
The London, Curling, from London, and Monmouth,
Fotherly, from Bristol, are arrived at Charleston ; also the
Irilh Volunteer, with upwards Os 240 pafiengers.
Veflels entered at the Custom-house of Charleston from the
3ft to the 30th ultimo: 16 lliips, 20 brigantines, 32 schoon
ers, 21 Hoops. In the whole 89.
MARRIED.] In this town, on Wednesday last, Captain
Horatio Marbury, to Mrs. Martin, relief of the late Colonel
John Martin., —On Thursday last, Mr. Thomas Wagnon, to
Miss Eleanor Saucer.
DIED.] Mrs. Doftiea Walton, wife of John Walton, Esq.
Surveyor for Richmond county. —Mrs, Crefwell, wife of
Mr. Robert Crefwell, House carpenter.

OUT of the fubfcribcr’s pocket, on the road from Savan
t Augusta—A large bundle of papers, amongst
which are, Col. Call’s note for two Negroes ; Benjamin
Maxwell, Efqrs. for one do. Mr. John Galphin’s for £SO.
and a number of receipts, memorandums of agreement, &c.
A. handlome reward will be given for the delivery of
said papers to the Printer in Augusta, or the subscriber at
the Falls.

CAME to the subscriber’s plantation, about one mile be'-
low Rae’s Creek, near the town of Augusta, on tha
Bth ult. A large black HORSE, has one hind foot white,
and branded on the lhoulder and buttock HE with a fleur-de
lys.

Five Guineas Reward.
STRAYED or STOLEN, from Augusta, on the night of
the 20th of Dec. last, A likely forrcl Gelding, about i/f.
hands high, 7 years old next furtimer, a large blaze on his
forehead, his off hind foot white above the foot lock, neither
dock’d nor branded, trots and earners. Any person who de
livers the said horse to me, at the mouth of Broad River,
Georgia, (hall receive the above reward, and all reasonable
charges paid*

BROUGHT to the house of Major Jefle Walton, by an
Indian, an African Negro Fellow, appears to be about
21 or 22 years of age, cannot (or will not) speak a word to
be understood, is of a yellow complexion, about 5 feet 8
inches high, straight and trim made, has some of his country
marks in his face ; had on a check shirt, a fliort brown coat,
and branded on the left lhoulder of the coat R, and on the
right lhoulder L.
Tolled before me this sth day of September, 1785.

Wilkes County. $ W county by virtue of a Writ of
Attachment to him direcled, did attach one trad of land in
said county of Wilkes, on the waters of William’s creek,
containing 900 acres, as the property of George Murray,
who is absent from, and without the limits of this state, at
the suit of the Admiuiftrators of William Candler, deceased,
who hath agreeably to the directions of the Attachment Ad,
filed his declaration in the Superior Court of said county, a
gainst the said George Murray, and hath obtained the follow
ing rule :
