A motion was made by Mr. William
Few, that the House do come to the fol
lowing resolutions :
Refolded, That this House will proceed
to name three fit and discreet persons from
' each county, to be convened at Augufla, by
the Executive, as foou as may be after
official information ii received that tune
■ dates have adopted the Federal Couflitu
tion ;. and a majority of. them frail pro
ceed* totake under their consideration the
alterations and amendments that are ne
cessary to be made in the Conftittttion of
thwState* and to arrange, digdft, and al
ter the fame in such manner, as in their
judgment will be most coufiftent with the
interest and fafety, and best secure the
rights and liberties of the citizens thereof.
And the said resolution being again read,
an amendment was proposed by Mr. Clay
thereunto.
Refolded, That when the Conflitntion is
1 altered aud amended in the manner afore
said, five hundred copies thereof frail be
• « -printed, and feut by the Executive to the
'different counties, and distributed among
■ the Justices and field officers of rhemili
; tia, to be communicated, to the pfcopie for
i their consideration.
Re/clved , That it be recommended to
every county, on the firft' Tuefday in De
cember thereafter to choose three Mem
| ber6 each, tomeet at Augurfta on the fourth
j day of January after, veiled with full
power, and for the fbJe purpose of adopt
ing and ratifying* or rejecting the fame.

ment of three fit and discreet persons- for
! each county, to be convened at Augufla,
by the Executive, as foou as may be, af
ter official information is received that
; nine states have adopted the Federal Con
stitution, to take under their confidera
tiou the alterations and amendments that
are neceflary to be made in theConftitu
tion of this state ; and to arrange, digefl,
and alter the fame in such manner, as in
their judgment will be most confident with
the interest and fafety, and heft secure the
rights and liberties of the citizens of this
state; and the following persons were
named and appointed for the different
counties:
