Thou canst strike off all malice, pride,
Corroding jealousy ;
And all fuperfluous thoughts beside,
That mar sweet harmony.
Thus all, who fit thy wondrous square ,
And in thy ccmpafs live,
Shall find relief from pain and care; —
These comforts thou canst give.
Thy gentle influence does, o’er all,
Still wid’ning, deep’ning, spread;
And like the sacred ointment fall,
That flow’d on Aaron’s head :
And foft as Hermon’s pearly dew.—
O may thy vot’ries give
Such proof, that all the world may view
How brethren ought to live.
Then let us join God’s name to praise
Our Architeft sublime!
Who could alone a temple raise,
To triumph over time !
