J°feph Haberrtiam from tfieCommit tcc on finance brought in a report, which being amended, was agreed to by the House, and is as follows: Your Committee recommend as a check on the Treasurer that the Turns of money and jcfpeftive denominations of claims against the Bate received in the Treasury since the fir ft instant, be made up to this day, and the a mount thereof carried to his debt in the Au ditor’s books, that in future the Treasurer be required to give a certificate to any person making a payment, which (hall be in the fol lowing words: These are to certify that , «' has paid into the Treasury the Aim of «« - in for which « you are authorifed to give a Receipt.” Which said receipt (hall be valid against the state, and the Clerk of the Exccutiue (hall file the Certificate of the Treasurer in his of fice, and make a fair entry in a-book to be kept for that purpose, and (hall also exhibit a monthly return of the fame to the Auditor, who is required to debit the Treasurer with the amount thereof. WA S stolen last Wednesday night, out of a pen near my boufe; (and another fcorfe left in his place) a flrong made bright hay work gelding, trots is a little sway back’d, about 15 hands high, 9 °r 10 years old, and has no brand or marks that I know of. The horse left is a sorrel, about 14 and a half hands high, 9 or iq years^ ; old; a- large blaze in his face, hind feet and legs white, a few saddle spots, has been used to the geers, and if left by any but his right owner he is delired to prove his property, pay the charges and take him away; aild whoever secures the thief in goal and fends home the horse with information to the fubferiber* shall receive the above Reward or Forty Shillings for either of them, paid by O IN HALL.
