Our readers who are in want of such
first-class articles as are found in a drug
store would do well to call at Mr. Por
ter’s Broughton street Pharmacy,
whose adverti-ement appears in the
Tribune. Aside from drugs and medi
cines the finest soaps, perfumety and
toilet goods are made a specialty. Give
him a call and you will surely be sat
isfied.
The Tribune has been sent to many
of our friends during the last three
wt ek with an invitation to subscribe
for it, In the last issue we stated that
it would be the last free issue. Scores
responded, but there are still many to
be heard from Remember that our
invitat.on still holds good, and we will
be glad to see you at our office. Ts you
cant call, send a postal card to have the
Tribune sent you and it will be done.

Mr. S. C. Kelly of Owens Ferry was
in the city on last Saturday when we
had the pleasure of meeting him Mr.
Kelly’s visit was one on business. He
brought up 500 bushels of rice raised
by himself, which he left with Mr. F.
M. Hull, to be sold at the best market
price after being milled, as the market
was very dull at the time. He also call
ed at the Tribune office and remem
bered us by a six months subscription.

Our “new public building” still hangs
on the ragged edge but will get there
just the same, even if we do have to
wait, tingle Sam is slow but sure. As
previously stated in the Tribune, the
Secretary of tho Treasury has approved
the report of the Special Agent sent
out to look alter a suitable location of a
site for the building, and has referred
the matter to the Attorney General as
to the power of the Government to con
demn the property, corner Bull and
South Broad streets, which has been
recommended by the Agent but which
was considered objectionable on account
of the exhorbitant price asked for it. It
is probably a new question to be decided
and the law officer of the government
may not decide the matter for several
months, and possibly the whole ques
tion may be sent back to the law mak
ing power which is Congress.

ASBURY M E- CHURCH
Rev. Richard Bigham has charge of
this important church, and has been
very successful in bringing it up to its
present condition, When Rev Bigham
took charge about a year ago, he found
the church in rather an indifferent con
dition with a small membership and
attendance. By his energetic work he
has received over two hundred new
members during the year, and the
church services now have a very good
attendance especially on Sundays.
