Mr. Denenall had sued Mr. McHardy for SIO,OOO damages for a libel published io the late “ Phoenix" on which the latter's name was printed as publisher. The verdict gave the plaintiff $25 d images. The first vote el the jury after retiring, it is understood, was 8 to 4 in favor of giving no djm ages, - ; * ■ WI Odd fellows’ Celebration. On Tuesday next the Bth instant, Myrtle Loifge No 1663 and Armenia No. 1930 (|'U O of O F , wil[ celebrate their 9th|Knd 11th anniversary by a grand parade in the afternoon. They will» escorted by Mt. Sier Lodge No. 2441XP G M Council No. 60 and the Patriarch all of this city. The pro cession wlh be headed by the Ogle thorpe colnet band and after the parade an address on the progress of Odd Fel lowship, ijwill be delivered by P N F., M F. Gibson. A grand supper free to their friends, will be served in the even ing at their hall on Duffy and Cuyler streets The price of admission for lady and gentleman 75 cents, single tickets 50 cents. The affair promises to be grand and the public is cordially invited The Georgia Infirmary—Report lon tho Recent Entertainment A reporter of the 18l BUN ■ visited the Georgia Infirmary during the week and was struck by the great improve ment in the appearance of that institu tion. The old dingy coverings to the cots were replaced by clean bright ones and an air of cheerfulness pervaded the place, thanks to the efforts made by the ladies at the recent entertainment The following report shows the disposi tion of the proceeds of the supper: The entertainment given at Odd Fel lows Hall, on Thursday evening, Janu ary 27, in aid of the Georgia Infirmary, netted $72-61. The following articles now purchased and sent to the Infirma ry viz: 24 Chairs; 24 white counterpains; 12 pair blankets; 32 sheets; 12 tin toot tubs; 24 cupe and saucers; 24 plates; 4 dozen tea spoons; 3 dozen desert spoons, 1 tin dipper; 1 ladle; 1 large iron spoon; 24 tumblers of Jelly; 6 cans condensed milk; 6 cans extract ot beef; 1 box of tobacco; 1 gallon whis key; 1 dozen sponges; 2 dozen pipes; 15 pounds of sugar; together with the meats, oranges, lemons, coffee etc., re maining from the supper. The taanagers desire to return their thanks to the citizens for their donations and patronage, to the Guards Band for music and to Mrs. Celia Anderson, Ijouisa Bulloch, Elite Morel, E L Ing lis# and J P Jones, for frerviees rendered.
