prominent part:
The recitation of Miss Florida L,
Desverney was a surprise even to thosu
who knew of her talent ns an e o u
tionist. She swayed the audience as she
pleased- She has perfect control over
her voice, and will make her mark.
She possesses histrionic ability of a high
order.
A duet. “Campana,” was sung by
Mises Florence A. Lewis and Florida
Desverney, Miss Lewis has a pure so
prana voice, and was never h ard to bet
ter advantage than in this duet. Mis.-
Desverney sings a magnificent alto, and
seconded Miss Lewis, soprano, with very
fine effect. “Campana” is very dificu t,
but the young ladies sung it perfectly.
Miss Anna E Scott of Savannah read an
essay on “Ciauks.” Miss Jo-ephene S
Bullock, Savannah, delivered the ‘■Vale
