And Soreness ResiAt:ng from
Going to Fight
The attack on the British garrison at
Gratong by a large force of Thibetans
indicates that the latter are seriously bent
on hostilities. For a long time armed
parties have crossed into Nepaul and
created disturbances there, ami several
skirmishes have occurred. The Bengal
government has been obliged to send
troops to the frontier, and now it looks
as if open war was to goon. Thibet has
been one of the most vigorously exclu
sive of even Asiatic countries. A few
years ago the famous traveller, Preje
valsky, was prevented from reaching its
capital, Lassa, but a few mouths hence,
it appears, he is going to make another
effort to get there, with an escort of two
officers and a few men, he himself being
in the Russian military service. Whether
the present, turbulence in Nepaul is en
couraged either at Pekin or Lassa, does
not appear, but it is clear enough that
the recent amicable overtures of the
Viceroy of India have thus far proved of
little avail. Yet out of the hostilities
may come important results toward the
opening of Thibet, and a market for
American goods,
CATARRH.
A Now Home Treatment for the Core of
Cularrh, Catarrh-I Dcafuena
an > Hay Fever.
The micros ope has proved that these dis
ea-ey are contagious, and they are due t > the
presence of living parasites in the lining mem
brane of the upper air passages and eustachian
tubes. The eminent scientists, lymlall. Hux
ley and Beale, endorse this, and these authori
ties cannot be dlsputeil. I'lie regular me hod
of treating these diseases has been to apply an
irritant remedy weekly, and even d .ily, thus
keeping tlie delicate membrane in a constant
slate of irrita ion. allowing it no chance to
heal, ai d as a natural consequence of such
treatment not one permanent cure has ever
bee i r corded. It is an absolute fact that
these diseases annot be cured by any applica
tion made oftener than once in two weeks, for
the membrane must, get a chance to h al
lie fore an application is repeate'. It is now
seven years since Mr. Dixon discovered the
parasite in catarrh and formulated his new
treatment, and since then his remedy has be
come a household word in every country
where the English langiiaxe is spoken. Cures
off cted by him seven years ago are cures still,
t here having bee, no return of the disease.
So highly are these re-medies valued that ig
norant imitators have started up every where,
pretending to destroy a parasite, of which tney
know nothing, by remedies, the resultsofthe
application of which they are equally ignor
ant. Mr. tiixon’s remedy is applied only once
in two weeks, and from one to three applica
tions effect a permanent cure in the most ag
gravated eases.
Mr. Dixon sends a pamphlet describing his
new treatment on Ihe receipt of stamp to pay
postage. The address is A H. Dixon & bon,

CATARRH IN THE HEAD.
’ SYMPTOMS OF THE DISEASE.-Dull, heavy headache,
obstruction of the nasal passages, discharges falling from the
head into the throat, sometimes profuse, watery, and acrid, at
others, thick, tenacious, mucous, purulent, bloody and putrid;
the eyes are weak; there is ringing in the ears, deafness, hacking
or coughing to clear the throat, expectoration of offensive mat
ter, together with scabs from ulcers; the voice is changed and
has a “nasal twang"; the breath is offensive; smell and taste
impaired; there is a sensation of dizziness, with mental depres
sion, a hacking cough and general debility. Only a few of the
above-named symptoms are likely to be present in any one case.
Thousands of cases annually, without manifesting half of tho
above symptoms, result in consumption, and end in the grave.
No disease is so common, more deceptive and dangerous, less
understood, or more unsuccessfully treated by physicians.
