West Savanr.alt Activities
Under the supemsion of Rev.
John Hayes, SMA, (the citizen;
in West Savannah, elected of-
ficers for the USO Auxiliary a'-
St. Anthony School. The Aux-
diary was familiarized with the

lirector and Wilton C.
Many activities were planned by
he West Savannahians. Much

work cooperatively with the
West 36th Street USO Club.

The USc Talent Girls and Sol
fber Mothers’ are creating much
interest in the coffee hour. Ev-

added. The program is varied

mental selections. The junior
Hostesses serving last Sunday
were: Misses Mary Seabrook,
Lois Smith, Polena Byrd, and
Euris smith. They served un-
der the supervision of Mrs.

the Mothers’ club.

The big Bingo Party is held
every Tuesday night. cash

The West 36th Stret USO
sent a record crowd of hostess
to the gala Thanksgiving affair
at Camp Stewart. Mrs. Edna
Lee supervised the large group.
She was assisted by Mesdames
Gladys Caper, Anne Riley, Geor-
giana Bolds and Geneva Dene-
gal.
Program Calendar—The Hos¬
tess Executive Committee is
sponsoring a gigantic formal
ball in honor of the graduates
of the Hostess Institute, Satur-
day December 4th at 8 p. m. at
the West 36th USO club. Camp
Stewart’s orchestra will furnish
the music. Mrs. John D. Pat-
ton is the chairman for the
unique entertainment. Mrs.
Patton is being ably assisted by
the Hostess Executive Commit-
tee. Mrs. Anita Johnson and
other senior hostesses.
The Bethlehem Baptist church
choir will give a concert at the
club, Sunday, December 5th at
6 p. m. The public is invited,
Travelers Aid Service—Soldiers
are constantly receiving informa
tion and other services from the
West 36th USO Volunteers who
are giving much time and ef¬
fort for Travelers Aid. The
Soldier Mothers are directing
the mending and sewdng of ehev
rons for the service men. The
junior hostesses and soldiers
wives manned the information
desks.

Seventy-five of the SSSS jun¬
ior hostesses were among the
300 young ladies who were guest.-;
of the Camp Stewart soldier.;
on Thanksgiving Day.
Orchids have been coming in
to the SSSS thick and fast -
thrt’s just how much everybody

was held at the SSSS on l»s‘.
Saturday night. Mrs. J. V.
Wilson, Mrs. S. F. Frazier, and
Mrs. S. it. Tompkins of the
South Atlantic Medical Auxil-
iary were hostesses for the ev-
ening and furnished the refresh*
ments for the soldiers and their
guests. During the evening
several members of the Junior
league came in, and Mrs. Eunice
Brown, president of the organ-
ization announced that the
group would volunteer their
services to make Christmas
merrier at the SSSS for the
servicemen.

Invitations have been issued
for a Tea Dance for the men of
Hunter Field to be held in the
spacious SSSS recreational hall
on Friday night, December 3rd.
Music will be furnished by a lo-
cal orchestra. Saturday, Saturday, Dec. Dec.
4 the SSSS will have a hospital-
ity night and during the evening
