HEALTH WEEK AT \
HODGE I>AY NURSERIY
For sixteen years health^ has
been sold in Yamacraw ;md it
is felt that much good has been
derived from these ffojto.i On
April 21st fifty five h<g| ■ of
the Hodge Memorial Djfy
sery were inspected, and moth¬
ers instructed as to the daun-
»er of stagnant water in yards
and hotises.
It way found that the yard*'
and homes were in excellent;
condition and many of them
had vegetable gardens planted.
The number of excellent
homos was found to be 43;
good homes, 12 .
Owing to the war the moth¬
ers decided last year not to ac¬
cept prizes, and, instead they
bought a war bond for thei
nursery. As we are still at
war, no prizes will be
this year-.
The toothers of the
,t oOwLmiht RsK ETA ETAl
are anxious to show their ap¬
preciation to Mrs. Hodge for
this magnificent gift by hav¬
ing the nursery walls cleaned
and paying for the work our of
their earinings.

LETTER OF APPRE
TION At.
During my period of con¬
valescence after protracted
illness, I wish to express my
sincere appreciation to my
many friends, who by their
varied expressions of sympa¬
thy comforted me and my
faithful wife.
Were it not, first, for my
faith in my Creator, confi¬
dence in my doctors, the ten¬
der care of a loving wife and
relatives, the attendants Christian’ »tk
Charity hospital, the
consolations from my pastor,
Rev. Ralph Mark Gilbert, and
members of my church and a
host of loyal friends, I would
not have had the fortitude^ to
have withstood the ordeal.
The dutiful and honest man¬
ner with which^ my. employees
carried on my place of busi-
ne«s under management of
Mr. Lucius Heyw'ard and the
continued patronage of my
customers during - my illness
have compensated me more
than I am able to express, for
the confidence I always repos¬
ed in them.
And now with these endear¬
ing words to you all, and, too,
the appreciation of my wife, I
hope to be at my place of bus¬
iness soon to greet you with
my familiar salutation, “Broth
er 1 am happy; are you hap¬
py?”
Sincerely yours,
