Adequate Breakfast to the Fore
BETTY BARCLAY
1 Adequate breakfasts are im¬
portant — very important. Don't
forget this Mrs. Housewife and
right now, It is part of your con¬
tribution to the war effort to see
that members of your family start
out for school or work with
sufficient fuel for an active day.
Even if you are one who worries
about retaining that girlish figure
— so fashionable today although so
abhorred by artists and Mother
Nature — remember your daily
meals should include an adequate
breakfast. Be the one whb, as you
drink your cup of coffee, can truth
fully say, “I've had an adequate
breakfast. Bring on the day’s
work!”
To add new Interest for your
family, did you ever set your break¬
fast table, buffet style? Have a
piate of assorted fruits so that
each may take his choice. Also
serve a large wooden bowl of
assorted breakfast foods so that
each member of the family can
create a cereal “medley.” letter,
serve muffins with a whole grain
value — tender, delicious, tasty
and easy to make. There are such
muffins (see recipe below! which
take the menu out of the ordinary
class.
Breakfast is an economical and
delightful way to entertain. Here's
a suggestion for a main dish for
your next breakfast party, “Sal
mon Savories.” No preparation of
