honorably discharged from the
armySept. 15 at Fort McPher¬
son. He and his wife, who re¬
sides in Columbus, ivere in the
city last week v.siting his mo-
ther and other relatives.
Mrs. Laurie G. Parker, former
Savannaliian, who is now re¬
siding in Baltimore, Md., was
in the city during the past week
because of the illness and death
of her mother in law, Mrs. Del-
ph:ne Parker.

During a night raid here, reports Staff Sgt. Robert W.
Harvey. Marine Corps combat correspondent, the Marine
ran from his tent, stepped smack into a bucket of wet
clothes and skidded the rest of the way to the foxhole on
his fare.
A few nights later the raiders struck while he was play¬
ing cards. His legs were twined around the supports of a
camp chair. His legs and the chair were nearly broken in

has a three-inch gash in his shoulder.
