WEDDING RECEPTION
One of the most delightful
events of the season took place
Sunday afternoon, June 15. at
Pemberton Hollywood Cabaret
New York city, when Mr. and
Mrs. Samuel J. Ayers entertain¬
ed with a wedding reception.
The bride, the former M.ss Eliz¬
abeth Dixon, and Samuel J- Ay¬
ers were joined together in holy
matrimony Sunday, May 4, by
the bride’s pastor, Rev. Adam
Clayton Powell, Jr., pastor of
Abyssinian Baptist ,, , church. , , Mis.

The cabaret was beautifully
decorated for the occasion with
white gladioli, white peonies
and white carnations- ,
The bride wore a beautiful
gown of sky blue with pink and
^old accessories, and a corsage
-of beautiful orchids.
Tihe bride and groom are
former Savannahians. The
hostesses were Mesdames The-
ressa Lark, Louise Hamilton,
Eloise Fleming, Mary Suares,

The Charioteers, great singing
quartet of the Bing Crosby show,
will be featured on the Carnation
Milk “Contented Hour” Monday,
July 7, over a full coast-to-coast
■network of NBC stations.
This famous combination is now
singing their fourth season on Bing
Crosby's series. They have recorded
with Frank Sinatra and Mildred
Bailey, and have shared air time
