Mrs. Cassandra Davis and Mrs. Josephine Thenstead
and her little daughter Marlene are the house guests of
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Harden. Mrs. Davis, a beautician, is
owner of Cassandrias Beauty Salon in New York. Mrs.
Thenstead is the wife of Adolph Thenstead who is the
producer of “Cilipso” the only Negro show on broadway.
Little Marlene, although only 41/3 years, already shows
an unusual talent for music. She attends the Hamilton
Terrace School of Music and has appeared in several re-
citals.
Inadvertently omitted at the affair given by Mrs. S.
O. L. Clarke honoring Miss Claudia Zachary were the
names of Mlisses Madeline Shivery, Josie Campbell and
Mrs. Bessie Washington. Assisting in serving were Miss-
es Jean Warrick (daughter of the J. H. Warricks) and
Olive Matthews, niece of Mrs. Clarke.
Sympathy to the Mrs. Louise Jackson
(daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Jackson) whose hus¬
band passed away Sunday morning in New York.
The many friends of Mrs. Willie G. Edwards, prin¬
cipal of Florance School, will be interested in knowing that
she is fortunate enough to be able to enjoy herself im¬
mensely socially and educationally. Mrs. Edwards who
is the only Negro and female in a class consisting of 34
administrators .....-------------------- is now working --------- D on -------- her Doctorate. ------- She
attends classes only on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the
jnaining days are spent in research work at the library.
