The Butterfly’s
Trail
By Albert Mary Thweatt
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK:
“That is a chilly and frost-bound disposition which pre¬
fers to enjoy its happiness or near it's grief alone. The pres¬
ence of a friend wro can feel with us even though imperfectly
the mere silent presence of g iriend, even though he be asleep,
as the friends of Jesus were, is something which enchances
pleasure and mitigates sorrow in every true and noble heart-

ucOige 3ernard Shaw, the
noted playwright, ag: 93, says
his “second childhood is a de¬
lightful state of existence . . .
For one thing you can do as
you please—which is some¬
thing you cannot do in your
first ch ldhocd.” W? wonder
if the children -of today know
anything about the last part
first school is the family.”
of that statement?
Froebel said, “The child’s
school is the family.”
Those interested in children
will enjoy reading the Weekly
column, “Home Education,”
found on the editorial page ot
th? “Tribune.”
Bishop R. R. Wright’s an¬
nual oratorical contest for
youth seems worthwhile for all
denominations to try. It is a
good way for the youth to
learn the history of their re¬
spective denominations as well
as to win a scholarsh p.
A hearty laugh is better
than a doctor’s prescription. It
tastes better, too. Seeing “Ab¬
bott and Costello M:et Frank¬
enstein” proved this.
Many citizens as well as stu¬
dents have enjoyed the im¬
provements around GSC, in¬
cluding better roads, necessary
new buildings, repairs to old
buildings, etc. It is regretted
that the regents found it ne¬
to cut $21,COO from the
budget during the mid¬
of the last fiscal year
