tional. Citing the efforts of the
United States to plead the cause
of minorities in a world scale,
he asked'

tice for minorities of the world
when we have it (racial segre¬
gation) in our own back yard
Both Waring and his wife, a
native of Detroit, have been out¬
spoken against racil segregation.
Mrs. Waring was on the plat^
form with the judge yesterdy.
She recently called Southern
whites ‘morally weak and low”
in connection with the racial dis¬
crimination Issue.
It will be recalled that it was
Judge Waring who ruled in 1947
that the Democratic party of
South Carolina was not a pri-
vte club and that Negroes had a
right to vote in that state’s pri¬
maries.
The Warings say that have
been snubbed socially in Charles¬
ton sinbe that court ruling. But
they held to their views. They
were even invited by the Sout'A
Carolina House of Representa-»
