BOOK WEEK AT
CARNEGIE LIBRARY
“Where, oh where Has that
library book gone?” It is hoped
that during Book Week many
young borrowers of the Child¬
ren’s Room of Carnegie Library
will ask themselves this question
and attempt to find the answer.
If borrowers with overdue books
from the Children’s Room will
return them during the period
November 13 to November 25
there will be no charge made
for the delinquency. This effort
to assist inactive borrowers to
become active again is part of
our celebration oi National Book
Week.
We are extending a special,
cordial invitation to all young
and old who do not come to the
library to please visit Carnegie
Library during Book Week

| The opinion, written by Asso¬
ciate Justice W. G. Roberds,
held that the sheriff was tres¬
passing on the woman’s prop¬
erty when he entered the bacx
yard without a search warrant
and arrested her. Green had
accused the woman of holding
a paper bag containing a bottle
of whiskey.
Said the opinion, “the history
of this section (constitutional
sect ion protecting private
rights) discloses the aversion of
p e0 pi e j 0 the right and
power of the government to in-
vade the homes and private
. j property without proper legal
J authority.
“it j S a poor example to the
citizen when the state itself,
through its agents, violates the
.fundamental law of the land.”
In a companion case, in which
Green was also one of the prin-
i ripals and failed to have a war-
Kant, the court released a Miss
l ^ola Pettis on charges of re-
Sisting the sheriff’s efforts to
jarrest offense. a Johnny Bolton Bolton on ref- a

luge in the woman’s home. She
| tried to prevent Green from
searching the house for the
fugitive.
i The court’s opinion in this
instance, quoted testimony that
Green did not ask permission to
search the house, and black¬
jacked the woman when she
grabbed his arm. Both Green
and his deputy said they did
not have a search warrant or
a warrant for Bolton’s arrest,
