Bethel AME Church
Services at Bethel Sunday were
impressive. After the devotional
oeriod there was a pause re¬
specting the memory of the
late Claytus Bryant, a fine
Sunday school student, junior
usher and member of choir No.
7 who died one year ago. Feb.
25, 1950. Flowers were placed
n the church by his parents
and by the choir No. 2 and the
junior usher board. After ser¬
vices a pilgrimage of four cars
wended their way to the cem¬
etery for a short but impressive
service and to place flowers on
the grave of this loved one.
Following the memorial period
for brother Bryant, came the
baptismal ritual in which
twenty-seven taken into the
church during the revival re¬
ceived full membership. After
baptism the pastor spoke on
•What Have You?" At night his
subject was “We Need a Reviv¬
al." In the afternoon the West
Side Go-Getters sponsored a
silver tea at the home of Bro.
Charlie Edwards. Mrs. Evelyn
Gordon is president of the club.

parsonage, 527 East Park Ave..

sor Madeline a friendship tea. Mrs.
V Hannar, a former
