ceased a glowing tribute. Assist¬
ing in the services were Rev. J.
H. Martin, Rev. Wm. Daniels,
Rev. R. W. Cliffin and Rev. E.
O. S. Cleveland. The program
was interspersed ' with several
musical numbers.
Interment was in Laurel
Grove cemetery, the Royall Un¬
dertaking Company having
charge of the funeral.
Mr. Jackson was a native of
Augusta, Ga., coming to Savan-;
nah when a young man. He was
a steamfitter and plumber by
profession and for a number of
years had charge of the steam¬
fitting and machinery of one of
the largest laundries in Sa¬
vannah, going from there in
1916 to the Georgia State col¬
lege where he had charge of
the laundry up to the time of
his retirement two years ago.
In addition to his duties as
supervisor of the laundry, he at
one time taught Iaundrying and
plumbing. A number of individ¬
uals who received certificates
under Mr. Jackson now own
laundries or are employed in
that field throughout the state.
He is survived by his wife,
Mary O. Jackson, and a daugh¬
ter. Miss Janie M. Berry.
