The Yamacraw Playground,
under direction of Carl W. Hag¬
an, is having an afternoon
game festival in which games
of all description will be
played. Bingo will be played by
adults. Prizes will be awarded
and refreshments will be
served. The program, first of its
kind to be held by a play¬
ground, is under the leadership
of Mrs. Maribelle Bryant, play¬
ground director.

in “The Old Maid and the
Thief,” a comic opera in Eng-
lif h, in Meldrm auditorium on

opera written by Gian-Me:iott.l,
was a thrilling triumph for
such stars as Madeline Vose,
Virginia Copeland Alfred Med-
inets and Geraldine Leslie.
The Come Opera Players pre-
sented the opera in a light, in-
