Members and friends of St.
John Baptist Church are anx¬
iously waiting to enter into the
celebration of the 62nd anni¬
versary of the church. A seri
of planned activities will begin
on Wednesday night, July 15,
and will continue through Sun¬
day, July 19th. Three of Sa¬
vannah’s leading pastors, to¬
gether with their congregations,
have been asked to share in
this celebration.
On Wednesday night, Rev. R
J. Cliffin, dynamic pastor and
evangelist will start the cele¬
bration off. A native of Savan¬
nah, he Is pastor of Mt. Bethel
and Little Bryan Neck Baptist
churches, the corresponding

with a large attendance. The
pastor delivered an excellent
sermon while music was rend¬
ered by choir No. 2 for morning
worship and choir No. 1 for the
afternoon. The Deacon and
Deaconess Board held their
celebration.
On Thursday night some of
Savannah's most promising
talents will be heard on a lit¬
erary program and on Friday
night, July 18, Rev. W. M. Dan¬
iels, the progressive pastor of
Central Baptist church, togeth¬
er with his congregation, will
play an Important role on the
program. Since becoming pas¬
tor of Central Baptist church,
Rev. Daniels has done much In
the way of expansion and con¬
struction. At present he is the
vice moderator of the Berean
Association. He also serves as
chairman of public relations of
the Baptist Ministerial Alliance,

The deceased is survived bv
two sisters and three brothers,
Her younger sister, Mrs. Mary
J. Johnston, was her constant
