CHURC HES
1st Tabernacle Bapt.
Church
As the year draws rapidly to
a close 1st Tabernacle Baptist
church takes a retrospective
view of her religious activities
and we may well say in the
words of the poet, “ ’Twa;;
grace that brought ps safe t,lius
far, and grace will lead us on."
All auxiliaries have wrought
well, our membership has in¬
creased, and we are justly
grateful for a Shepherd with a
vision, in Rev Eugene G. Lane
Many were in attendance for
Sunday’s services, relatives in
the armed services, students
and out of town visitors in¬
cluded. Our son, Rev. N. Keitt,
delivered the morning message
in touching manner from title,
"Where Is Jesus?” We were re¬
minded that Christians should
have that Holy Spirit with them
at all times.
During BTU hour Mrs. A. L.
Graves presided and the pro-
gra.m Chr. Mrs. Wilson pre¬
sented "White Christmas” in a
glorious setting from the time
little Nona D. Dower told us
the meaning of Christmas until
the closing prayer was offered
by Dea. S. E. White. Our BTU
director for this year is Mr. H.
E. Bullard.
The Imperial Choir under the
direction of Mrs. Anne Hamil¬
ton sponsored the closing wor¬
ship at which time “Star of
The East" was dramatized,
featuring Mesdames A. L.
Anderson, G. Gillespie, M.
Dozier, R. Dillard, R. Griffin
and Messrs. Coleman and Bul¬
lard.
The Sunday school Christmas
program Is slated for Wednes¬
day evening and the 5 A. M.
Friday morning service will in¬
clude the message by our pas¬
tor. May your Christmas be
sane and happy anad may the
sane and happy and may the
cause of your re-dedication in
Kingdom building.
Faithfully yours,
Rev. E. G. Lane, Pastor

MEMORY
Mc.FHERSON- Memorial
poem for
REV, G. C MePIHERMON
who departed this life, Decem¬
ber 27, 1952.
There are gains for all oui)
losses,
There are balms for all our
pain;
But when you, dear one, depart¬
ed
Took something from our
hearts,
Which will ne’er come back
again
' Something beautiful has
van¬
ished,
And we sigh for it in vain
But we sense it everywhere
On earth, and in the, air
But it never comes back again;
Your loving spirit, gone
Gone to live up there.
We loved you dearly, but God
loved you best.

WILLIAMS—In loving memory
my wife,
REBECCA FIELDS WILLIAMS
who died one year ago, Decem¬
ber 20, 1952.
How I miss and how I mourn
her,
How I long for her each day;
Since she heard the call of
Heaven,
Closed her eyes and went away.
But my heart and soul gain
comfort
In the thought where she may
dwell,
There is peace and rest and
beauty,
God is love and all is well.

of my dear son,
MR. NATHAN BRISON
who ded Dec. 25th, 1952.
We feel the world’s a better
place,
Of truly greater worth;
And richer far in love and
grace
Since you lived on earth.
We know the land beyond the
| skies
Is sweeter and more fair;
, And literally a paradise,
Because nis home is there.
