Sorry that your scribe did not get there but so many wonderful words of praise have come to our ears that wc just must offr our congratulations to the members of the Choral Society and the director, Dr. Coleridge A. Miss Con¬ stance Lewis and Curtis Cooper of Savannah, Joseph Brown of Colum his, and Nathan Dell of Dublin were soloists. All who have ever witnessed a chorus under Dr. Brailh- uaite have expressed their enjoyment seeing him direct it. ltcally makes one feel like joining in the music. BEACH ADULT QUUCATtON CENTER HOLDS COMMENCE ME NT EXERCISES A large crowd witnessed the commencement exercises ol Beach Adult Education Center on last Thursday night- There were graduates in the departments of brick masonry, carpen¬ try, dressmaking, interior decoration, tailoring and domestic science. There were eighty in all, the largest number being in domestic science. Congratulations to all of the members of the graduating class. The speaker for the evening was Dean Geraldine II. Penn. She was introduced by Mrs. Dorothy R. Lumpkin, Supcrvisoi of the Vocational Division of the Beaih Adult Education Center. . Dean Penn’s experiences include the following, teacher in the public school c.i Leavensworth, Kansas; in¬ structor, St- Pliillips Junior College, Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Professor and Dean of the School of Home Economies, ant. Adviser in.-Home Economies, School of Graduate studies, South Carolina State College. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Sorority, the Episcopal Church, the Association oi Department of Teacher Trainers of Home Economies, Southern Region, N. E, A.; Past Matron, O. E.
