In spite of the inclement
weather, services were well at
tended on Sunday at Bethlehem
Bapt. church beginning wit!

Outler in charge. The Junior
Church with Miss Daisy Phoe¬
nix, director, is making steady
progress. At the morning wor¬
ship the pastor delivered an
impressive sermon from the
theme, “The End and Aim of
Life." BTU.met at 6 with Mrs
Mamie Williams in charge. At
the evening worship our pastor
again delivered an able sermon
from the theme, “Midnight
Memories." At this service Sis¬
ter Maggie Mary Ward, one of
our old former members who
was baptized years ago by Rev
Habersham, but has been living
out of the city, united with us
again. The Gospel Chorus will
observe its anniversary on Oct¬
ober 27. Let us not forget the
convention which will be held
at our church in November. We
are glad to state that most ol
our sick people are on the road

ministration. She is principal
of Paulsen street school. Aside
from her school work, Miss
Maree has the distinction of
being the first woman on the
board of directors of the YM-
CA. She is a member of the
Mental Health Board and the
Chatham Federal Credit Union
Board and holds a life member-
ship in the National Education
al Association. She is a member
of Zeta Phi Beta sorority, and a
state director, and is an active
worker in Girl and Boy Scout
organizations.

and others.
At 4 p. m. a musical and lit¬
erary program will be rendered.

Services both Sunday morn¬
ing and night were very im¬
pressive at Beth Eden Baptist
church. Rev. Black brought out
some beautiful thoughts in his
sermon at the morning service
on the transfiguration. The
need for the Christian to let his
light shine was stressed. The
communion service at night was
inspiring and the choir was at
its best both morning and
night. At the evening service
our thoughts were turned to
the necessity of drawing near¬
er to God and the resulting
benefits. The ‘Musical Pew
Rally” on Sunday, Oct. 31, at 4
p.m. promises to be a most en¬
joyable one. We invite our
friends to be with us.
