isters Alliance met. Tuesday at
the First Tabernacle Baptist
church, Rev. E. G. Lane, pastor
The devotionals were conduct¬
ed by Rev. J. J. Dinkins. Rev.
Richard Williams served
secretary in the absence of Rev.
Bunn who is ill. Rev. A. Miller
and Rev. J. J. Dinkins were re¬
stored to the body. Visitor-
present were Rev. Seabrooks
Rev. J Bush, Rev. A. A Bush
and Rev. Brabham who were
Introduced by Rev. Grant and
Rev. Bates. The Rev. Cliffin
responded to the visitors. Mrs.
L. Wilson spoke In the interest
of the Women's and Young
People’s Department of the
National Baptist Convention.
The Sunday school lesson was
Interpreted by Rev. A. A. Bush.
A sermon full of fervor was de¬
livered by Rev. T. Brabham of
Estill, S. C., from the text, I
Corinthians 111 : subject, "Fol-
low Jesus " The me ..... was was
well received witli a vote of
appreciation.

On Friday night, Oct. 1, the
Senior Choir of Emmanuel cel¬
ebrated its 28th anniversary
with the following church choirs
and singing groups taking part:
First Ebenezer, Mt,. Zion, St
Luke, Bethel AME, Isralite
Tabernacle, St. Paul, 2nd Ever¬
green, Beulah. St. James AME.
First Brownsville, Bolton St.,
First Evergreen, True Love, the
Royal Society, Ushers Baptist
Union, Connor’s Temple, Gospel
Chours and the Glory Bound
Singers.
Sunday school and morning
service were largely attended.
One member was restored Rev.
Chas Pinckney delivered the
morning message and the pas¬
tor the evening message. The
Senior and Juni6r choirs rend¬
ered service jointly.
The Senior Ushers will cele¬
brate their 27th anniversary
the latter part of the month;
also the church will celebrate
its 29th anniversary. The pas¬
tor will bring a special message
on Sunday morning.
Jerusalem Bapt. Church
Services were excellent Sun¬
day at First Jerusalem Baptist
church beginning with Sunday
school led by Dea. Loadholt
Rev. w Brown, pastor, preached
an inspiring sermon at 11 a m.
At night service the pastor de¬
livered another inspiring ser¬
mon. Mrs Mattie Wilson, re¬
porter.

At F. A. B. Church
The city-wide chorus, com¬
posed of some of the best youth¬
ful singing talents from the
various churches throughout
Savannah and Chatham Coun¬
ty, will be featured on a pro¬
gram this coming Friday, Oct 1
8, at 8 pm. at First African
Baptist church. This chorus is ,
under the leadership of Mrs.
M. Moon, and Mrs. L. S'. Stell
serving as advisors; E. R. Ruff- i
ner .organist, and F. C. Mc-
Moore .director. This group is
also known as the Baptist State
Convention chorus.
There will also be featured
on this program a womanless
wedding sponsored by the YPA
#f the church with Mrs. R. M
Oilbert as adviser. Some of the
leading deacons of the church
and other dignified men of our
city will participate, sue!) as

Christ.” BTU was held at 6 : 00 .
At 7:00 service Rev. V. Nixs de-
livered an inspiring sermon,
subject, “The Rock of Our Sul-
vation.” The Bermnnett Gospel

count of illness, was present.

sermon Monday night. A musi¬

Auxiliary to the Union Mission-
ary Batist Association.
