church. Sunday school met at

met at 6 o'clock with the vice
president in charge, Mrs. Elease
Roberts, and at 8 o'clock the
pastor again filled the pulpit
with a soul stirring sermon,
subject, "Pilate said then what
shall I do with Jesus.” At 9
o’clock we had fellowship ser¬
vice, Rev. Henderson and his
■congregation being our guest,
pastor of Friendship Baptist
church. He preached an im¬
pressive sermon.
Bethel AME Church
Sunday was Men's Day at
Bethel AME church. In the
morning service J. B.

sided over by Deacon Fyall. The
pastor brought the morning and
evening messages from the
subjects, "God Our Refuge in
the time of trouble” and "Shut¬
ting out God.” Rev. R. Rouse
and Rev. Chas. Pinckney assist¬
ed in the day’s services. The
youth will have complete charge
of the services on Sunday. On
Wednesday, October 26, through
Sunday, Oct. 30, the church will
observe its 29th year of exist¬
ence. Several ministers and
their congregations will join in
the celebration. 4 basket dinner
will be served on the church
grounds at the close of the af¬
fair on 5th Sunday afternoon.

were in Girl Scout, and Brown¬

make the party an enjoyable
