WONDERS NEVER CEASE
The old adage that “wonders
never cease” ran true to form last
week in the Mosely family.'Ser¬
geant Herman Mosely came home
to spend part of his furlough with
his mother, Mrs. Marion Mosely,
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thom¬
as Baker, and other members of
his family. Before returning to his
base he decided to make a two-day
visit with his friend Charles Jones
(f'Bebe”), who is married and
living itf Long Island, N. Y. Mrs.
Jones’ sister, who is Miss Ade¬
laide Howell, a former Savannah T
ian and friend of Herman’s, lives
with them. In nine days, Mrs.
Mosely received a long distance
call from Herman saying that he
had decided to marry Adelaide
and to come up to the wedding.
Within a period of five days,
Mrs. Mosely, her son, Neil, and
two daughters, Mrs. Constance
I Johnson and Gloria, were headed
for New York by motor.

six years and will soon leave for
Japan.
While in New York, Gloria had
the honor of being guest singer
at Smalls’ Paradise. Tommie
Smalls had taken the Moselys and
"Connie” to visit his place. He
also took them to the Page 3 Club
where Gloria was also invited to
sing. Was she thrilled! And
a hit excited. She was asked by
Tommie to have a recording made
of a song and send him. Who
knows ? This may be the begin-
ning of a glorious future for
Gloria.
Before returning to Savannah,
the group visited and were paid
visits from friends, among them
being Jacqueline Varner, Mrs.
Ocala W. Scott, and Carl Ferre-
