its sixty-fifth anniversary. The
celebration began last night and
will end Sunday night.

11:15 o'clock will be highlighted

Washington. The guests of hon-
er will be the Sr. Mission, the *
Matron’s Auxiliary and the
Public Relations Group of the
church.
Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock
the program will be in charge
of St. Paul Baptist church with
the Rev. A E. Hagins, pastor,
delivering the anniversary ser¬
mon. At night communion ser¬
vices will be held.

The Savannah Baptist Minis¬
ters Alliance met in Its usual
conference Tuesday at the Bol¬
ton Street, Baptist churc h. Rev
C. E. Richardson, pastor. The
inspirational period was in
charge of Rev. G W Carter,
who also gave the highlights on
the Sunday school lesson, ‘Me¬
sas, the Savior of Me.’’ Opening-
prayer was made by Rev. Mose
Shavers. The president, Rev J.
C. McMillan, presided. Rev. E.
A. Capers served as secretary
in the absence of Rev. Rich¬
ardson.
Ail other business was sus¬
pended to give way to the ex¬
ecutive board to disc ass plans
for the coming training school.

Alliance accepted the offer of
the Southern Baptist Conven¬
tion that a school of training

Pastor E. O. S. Cleveland held

Preeminence of Christ.” Several
visitors were present, including

panied by Mrs. Knight. Mrs.
Roberts’ funeral was held in St.

ment of Physical Education. He

Delaware State College, Dover,
Delaware, where he served as Di¬
rect oi of Physical Education and
head coach of football and basket-
Ross C. Owen has served as act¬
ing director following the late
Clove T,. Abbott who headed this
area from 1923 until his death
in 1955. Mr. Owen will continue
as assistant in the department and
as basketball coach.
Dr. Jackson will give full time
to liis duties as director and will
not lie actively engaged in coach-
ing. The football team is coached
by Whitney Van Clove, formerly
with (.rambling College.
Dr. Jackson compiled an envi¬
able record at Delaware State,
having a seven won and one lost
record in football and a 16-4 rec-
ord in basketball. His teams were
runners-up to the highly touted ]
