Cleveland at Piano On Friday night., May 17, Reverend E. O. S. Cleveland, A.B., D.D , pastor of S‘. John Baptist church, 526 Hartridge street, .will be presented by Mrs. M. N. Moon in an organ and piano recital in the church auditorium. This recital will be an out¬ standing event. Dr. Cleveland is master of both instruments. Bapt. Ministers Alliance The Savannah Baptist Minis¬ ters Alliance’s weekly devotions were conducted by Rev. R. B Brown Tuesday at Thankful Baptist church. The president, Rev. J. C. McMillan, presided. The Sunday school lesson was illustrated toy Rev. L. L. Small. Visitors were Rev. D. T. George, the guest of Rev. L. S. Si ell and Bethlehem Baptist church; Rev. N. G. Bryan of Jackson, S. C., Rev. J. Reddick of Palen Meth¬ odist church, and Rev. Paul MrKindred of Wayoross, who delivered an inspiring message. Rev. Wm. Cunningham. Rev. T. B. Bates and Rev. D. T George assisted in the pulpit services Rev. H L. Jordan of Mil- jedgeville will bring the sermon on next Tuesday On May 17 at 12 noon the ministers will hold prayer services at Thankful Baptist church. The public is invited to attend. Mother’s Day Program There will be a Mther’s Dny program given at the St. Peter’s Baptist church on Sunday even¬ ing at 6 o'clock. The response will be by the mother of the church, Mrs. Brinkley, and at 7:30 o’clock the usher board will sponsor a little girls con¬ test. Rev. L. H. Bright is of the church. Mt. M. Reeves of Griffin. "Back To Church Month" is one of the main features on the regular program of the church. White- head spoke from the subject. "Witness for Christ." Music was rendered by the junior choir. At 2 p. m. communion was held with the pastor delivering the message. Zion Baptist church, Rev. John Q. Adams, pastor, revival services are now in pro¬ gress. Guest minister for the veek beginning Monday night, May 13, will be Rev. Jerry Drayton, D. D. Rev. Drayton is a native Sa- vannahian and a graduate of Beach High School. He holds an A B. degree from Morehouse College, a B. D. degree from Howard University and received the D. D. degree from the Virginia Theological Seminary at Lynchburg, Va. For the past thirteen years he has been pastor of the New Bethel Bap¬ tist church at Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Special music will be ren¬ dered each night by the com¬ bined choirs of the church under the direction of Prof. Robert P. Jordan with Mrs. Mamie Commander at the or¬ gan and Mrs. Cora B. Williams at the piano. Services begin each evening at 8 o’clock. F.B.B. Combined Choirs The regular meeting of the combined choirs was held in the education building of F. B. B. church, Mrs. Ozena Wilcox, hostess. Much business was dis¬ cussed. Those who assisted the hostess in serving were Mrs. Isaiah Rivers, Miss Edith Sim¬ mons and Miss Sadie Lagree. The next meeting will be held at 1319 Richards street, Mrs. Tessie Mae Grant as hostess, on May 19. Bethlehem Bapt. Church All services were inspira¬ tional on Sunday at Bethlehem Baptist church. U. met with Mrs. Mamie Williams, director. A pew rally is being sponsored on Sunday afternoon at 6 by the BTU. Our revival meeting began Monday night with Rev. D. T.
