^VANNAH STATE SETS PLANS FOR
HOMECOMING
According to information re¬
ceived from Frank Tharpe, gen-
eral chairman, Savannah State
College Homecoming Committee,
Homecoming will lie celebrated on
Saturday, November 23, with the
gridiron classic between Savannah
State College Tigers and Claflin
University. Features of the day
will inelude a parade, alunini meet¬
ing and dance.
The display of “Costumes
Through The Ages” (theme of
this year’s parade) is expected to
be one of the most elaborate the
College has staged in recent years.
Floats and cars of class groups,
student organizations and alumni
chapters will form the main body
of the parade. Each will depict
some mode of dress through the
ages. be
Highlight of the parade will
the flout bearing “Miss Savannah
State” and her attendants. Reign¬
ing over this year’s festivities will
be Miss Dorothy D. Davis, senior,

tion, Miss Joan Singleton, presi¬
dent of the Alfred F-. Beach High
School Student Council, has an¬
nounced that Miss Laura Greene,
