Betts, the 450-pound senior half¬
back from Youngstown, Ohio,
snared a 17-yard scoring pass, as
Princetown succumbed 12-to-10 to
Colgate’s Red Raiders.
Betts made the play that proved
to be the turning point of the
game in the fourth quarter when
he intercepted a Princeton aerial
and returned it 20 yards. Colgate
then went on to score two touch¬
downs within the space of nine
minutes after having earlier fail
to make a first down in the first
41 minutes.
Mighty Ohio State scored the
most lopsided victory among ma¬
jor colleges when the Buckeyes
routed Indiana, 56 to 0, before 78.-
348 onlookers at Columbus. It was
the first time in 19 home games
that OSU failed to draw 80,900 in
attendance.
