returned home Sunday after a
delightful week in Washington,
D. c.f and other cities. While
in Washington he resided at
the new Dunbar Hotel. He vis¬
ited Mesdames Jennie Simmc
and Mable Wright, former Sa-
vannahians who are sisters of
John McIntosh. He also spent
an evening with Mr. and Mrs.
Lewis Lee; Mrs. Lee being the
former Marcia Macon of Clax-
ton. Mr. Perkins took advan¬
tage of the many sightseeing
tours in Washington. Among
the most interesting were the
Government Buildings, the tour
of churches, the Washington
Monument, the National Ceme¬
tery and the grave of the Un¬
known Soldier, Annapolis, Md.,
Mt. Vernon and the Smithson
ian Institution.

Golden Age Club
The Golden Age Club met at
the usual time Tuesday after¬
noon at St. Thomas AME
church. Members of this group
are very enthusiastic, having
made many useful articles,
which will be on sale at a ba¬
zaar planned for the near fu¬
ture. The club is under tiro
auspices of the City Recreation
Dept. All interested persons
over fifty years of age are ask¬
ed to visit the, group on Tues¬
day afternoons at 3:30 pan.

Civic Garden Club
The Civic Garden Club was!
entertained Wednesday evening

Much business was transacted
and plans were discussed on
improving the grounds at the
Georgia Infirmary, which is
our project. The members were
ailso reminded to visit the
Garden Center on Saturday at
which time we were host and
to attend every Saturday and
Tuesday when possible. A new
member is Mrs. Bernice Saddler
of Montgomery, also Mrs. Jewel
McDew was present after atten¬
ding summer school.
A symetrical arrangement of
Fistegers was made and dem¬
onstrated by Mrs. Grant. After
the business a tasty supper was
served.

MR. & MRS. FRED WILLIAMS
of &14 W. 3&th Street returned
home last Thursday after an
extensive motor trip. Alter
spending a few days with their
daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Black¬
man, in Chicago, they motored
to New York accompanied by
Mrs. Blackman. While in New
York they took in several radio
broadcasts, Broadway plays and
visited Radio City. In Philadel¬
phia they visited their many
relatives and friends who gra¬
ciously entertained them. Mrs.
Buackman returned name with
her parents for a short visit.
In Chicago, she is employed by
the Housing Authority as a
Rent Fixer, and is still singing
in various groups. She returned
to Chicago last Sunday.
