Woodley Lewis Signs
’59 Pact
CHICAGO — (ANP)—Wood- •
ley Lewis, who is 31 years old,;
has played nine seasons in the
National Football League - the
last three with the Chicago
Cardinals, land feels that he
will play another 10 seasons,
has signed his 10th pro con¬
tract, Managing Director Wal¬
ter Wolfner announced.
Lewis, the Cards starting
right end on offense last year,
led the Cards and was sixth in
the NFL in pass receiving,
catching 46 for 690 yards and
4 TD’s. In 1957 he caught 21
for 424 yards and 5 TD’s.
Woodley, a probation officer
in his home city of Los Ange-;
Ies during the off-season, was
used as a defensive back by
the Los Angeles Rams after a|

CHICAGO—(ANP) — Ferde
Grofe, noted American compos¬
er, is currently creating his
newest composition, “Chicago-
Land Miuoic Festival Suite,” to
be premiered in Chicago on
Aug. 22, at the 30th annual
Ohioagoland Music Festival,
sponsored by Chicago Tribune
Charities, Inc.
At that time Grofe will con¬
duct his original work before
an expected audience of 75,000
persons, according to Philip
Maxwell, festival director.
A portion of the new musical
composition will incorporate
into its theme the colorful ;
match-lighting ceremony, a
highlight of the Chiioagoland
festival since the first program
was given.
