Annual Free Gift Shop
Project
The Beta Chi Omega Chap¬
ter cf the Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority has just cotmpleted its
fifth annual Free Gift Shop
rbject at the Veterans Admin-
i-WTation Hospital, Tuskegee,
pabama. The project enabled
lospitalized veterans to select
fifts for their families and
have them mailed at the ex¬
pense of the sorority.
Miss Clarie E. Minnis, chair¬
man Of the project, revealed
that 25 chapters in 19 states
participated in the project.
They furnished nearly 600 gifts
and funds for mailing expenses.
The members of the Tuskegee
chapter spent scores of hours
assorting the gifts, arranging
displays, escorting patients and
assisting with gift selection.
Each package was attractively
gift wrapped and mailed. Sta¬
tistics indicated that 278 pa¬
tients made selections from the
shop and 548 gifts were mailed
to their relatives in 22 states
and the District of Columbia.
