when a new oil well was dis¬
covered by the company he
owns jointly with Allen A.

The well, which, at last re¬
port, was gushing oil at the
rate of 150 barrels an hour
after it.; initial surge of 400
barrels an hour, is located on
a 1500-acre tract ol land leased
in this area.
The land is owned by Cletc
Garner, Kentucky State repre¬
sentative, -who will collect an
eighth of the revenue as royal¬
ty from his lease.
Churches To Benefit
Horn, a Negro, said that one
of thi' chief beneficiaries of the
oil revenue will be the Beiean
Baptist church in Chicago, of
which he is a member. lie ex¬
plained:
"When I makf money 1 don’t
;pend it on race horses or any¬
thin!'; like that. My church will
be one of the chief beneficiar¬
ies of my good fortune.”

However, the company hoped

week. One Tennessee geologist
said the well will "spout off for
days or weeks and then settle
down to steady production of
50 to 200 barrels daily."
Another geologist, H. C. Mil¬
hous, predicted that the suc¬
cess of this well so near the

Blind Singer Arrested
For Attempted Burglary
RIDGEFIELD PARK, N. J.
Blind Singer A1 Kibbler is sche¬
duled for a court appearance
here January 13 to answer a
charge of attempted burglary.
He was freed on $1,250 bond af-
ter being named last Wednes¬
day at the scene of the attempt¬
ed burglary.
Kibbler, 43, was arrested after
police found him standing In a
gasoline station that was the
scene lof an attempted break
in.
Police sought two companions
of Kibbler for questioning in
connection with the case.
Kibbler told police he had
been in New York and two male
friends offered to drive him
home. During the trip to his
Teaneck, N. J„ home, the blind
singer told police they were
stopped twice along the way.
Companions Drive Away
When they stopped a third
t ime Kibbler said lie heard glass
breaking and insisted on get¬
ting out. lie told police his
companions then drove off and
left him there.
Kibbler’s attorney, Leonard
ft tone, said Kibbler tried to
find his way into the service
station to get help.
“He even hollered but no
one heard him," Stone said.
"Then he felt his way around
the station and found the door
where the glass had been brok¬
en, put his arm through the
door and opened It.
“Ho was standing there when
tiie police arrived,” Stone said.
