Nicholson, associate regional direc¬
tor of the Zeta Phi Beta sorority

the amputation of her left leg
above the knee.
Miss Nicholson, public school
teacher, socialite and civil work¬
er, said the operation was neces-
saiy to prevent the spread of a
cancerous infection, of which she
was unaware.
The operation was performed
in Rochester, Minn., Jan. 15 and

This is the first all Negro group
to successfully hold a complete
four day meeting with convention
headquarters and residences at any
hotel.

year at Indiana University. He
has been the official accompanist
for the National Talent Hunt com¬
mittee, since the first program in
Cincinnati in 1953.
