Medical Research Grants

ers’ Research Foundation, a spon-
sored charity of the Ancient Egyp¬
tian Arabic Order Nobles of the
Mystic Shrine and the Daughters
of Isis, headquartered at 11108
Broadway, Detroit, Mich.
The deadine for 'the medical
grants applications is August 5,
I960. Research grants are made
to accredited hospitals, medical
schools and doctors pursuing re¬
search studies. All giants are
made upon merits without consid¬
eration of other factors including
race, creed or national origin.
Funds for the nation-wide re¬
search projects supported by
Prince Hall Shriners are pro¬
vided by members of the organi¬
zation who belong to more than
155 temples in as many cities
throughout the United States, and
their auxiliary, The Daughters of
Isis.
The Shriners have donated more
than two hundred and ten dollars
during this past nine years to
medical research. Forty - eight
thousand, five hundred dollars of
this amount was distributed dur¬
ing the current fiscal year to
schools and hospitals.
Now institutions, qualified med¬
ical students and hospitals with a
research study program are being
urged to apply for grants. Let-
ters of application, with support-
ing evidence of medical research
technique, would be considered. It
was further emphasized that the
Shriners Research Foundation
grants were made without regard
to race, creed or national origin,
