The fufihion and domestio articles in

Why will colored men sell their votes?
They can never win till they value

I We aro indebted to Congressman Har

missioner of Education for 1872.
Moore Bee World, published at Rome,
is at hand, and it contains much informa
tion iudispousable to those interested in
bee culture.
The Georgia Musical Eclectic, publish
ed by Guilford, Wood «fe Co., Macon and
Atlanta, is a musical publication of decid
ed merit, and is well worthy a place in
every drawing room in the South.
Wilson’s Herald of Health, Atlanta, is
everything it represents itsolf, and while
it is published'we have no need for its
able competitor, “Hall's Journal.”
TEASE AND NOBMAN.
We aro iudobtod to these gentlemen for
a splendid copy of Faust, published by
Boosy «fc Co., Now York. The music is
arranged for the piano, and the opora is
given complete, the words in Italian and
English. It should be German and Eng
lish, the libretto of Gounod boing written
first in German, but this makes no differ
ence. The same houso has Fidolo, Figa
ro, Fra Diavolo, Don Pasquale, Dinorah,
Dor Froisohutz, and all the popular operas,
in tho same magnificent binding and
beauty of arrangomont. Every pianist
can secure complete operas at a low coHt,
and give us bettor music than the so-call
ed popular ballads that outrage poetry
and niusio. Peaso A. Norman have tho
latost hooks and musio for sale.
w. J. CHAFFIN.
From this gentleman we have received
a large hatch of the latest periodicals—
Harpers' Weekly, Frank Leslie, tho Dan
bury News, a splendid new musical peri
odical La Creme de la Creme, tho Now
York Musical Gazette, The Ledger, tho
New York Weekly, Chimney Corner, Sat

The President told the Ropublicau mem

The inspootors will assemble in an ir

The Georgia Press Association, will ns-

how muny will bo hero, as but few have
notified mi of tlioir intoution to attend,
hut that muttors not; if every man of
them comes, from tho hoAd editor to the

MAVANNAU.
There are two papors published iu Sa

Harris, is at ways welcome, and the A dr er-

ish wisdom of the voriostfogy in tho laud.
Somehow, both these papers Lave had an
imiuenso amount of fuu over tho fact that
tho I'.nivuiuku was published by a Yankee.
We welcome tho hardost jokes of tho

heart, nml that ability wbioh nil mon must

half dozon other papers retains all their
venom, spleen, ignorance and meanness
without a partiole of their sense—this
fire-eating gouty shoot is known, whore
known at all, as tho Hnvnunah Republican.
Its greatest fame, if it lias any, is in its
aping of tho stylo and mannor of its
neighbor, tho News, and it Buocoods, as
does a negro in tho second-hand clothes
«*f his master, aping among his follows his
lunstor’s manners.
The Republican has boon unfortunate,
net only in its business management, but

The men who were failures as country ed
