Charleston, October 23.—Gov. Moses
lias issued a proclamation that tho Boards
of County Commissioners of Elections
shall consist of ono regular Republican,
ouo independent Republican, and one
Conservative.

Moses for removing the deep seated dis
trust and discontent with tho new commis

Shreveport, October 23.—Everybody

boat Esperauza was burned on Tlinrsday
night nt midnight at Profit’s Island. Tho
boat and cargo are a total loss. The
chambermaid was lost, but all tho othors

have been read nt the Centennial rooms
from Brazil which indicate that the Em
peror will he one of the nation’s guests iu

intend to do so on the occasion of tho
Centennial anniversary, but it will bo

New York, October 23.—Henry Clews
& Co. have assigned to Frederick Taylor
for the benefit of their creditors.

cites Henry Clews for an explanation, and
enjoins him from disposing of property.
