Lead Inetead of Tarnipa, Mr. Charles Munro, who has a vegeta ble garden on his father's place, a few miles from the city, has been missing tnr- nips from hia patch ; so ho commenced watching his property. Thursday night he blazed loose a double-barrel gun at a negro, who was busy gathering turnip- tops. Tbo darkey ran, leaving blood be hind and a bag-full of greens. It seems that ho run as far as the bridge near the cemetery, where he fell from exhaustion. Colored passers reported the case to offi cers early yesterday morning. They went out with a wagon, and brought the fugi tive to the guard-house. Hu lias four buckshot in his breast and one in tho back, and may dio ; though the physicians say ho has chauces for life.
