Exhibitions were given in the afternoon and night to a good audience in the ter rain at night. Wa ware highly plnmtrl w ith the performance. It was something new, startling and exciting. km awakening marked and constantly in creasing interest, it surpasses any show antler canvass that w* have aver sean. Those monotonous features of a clown, with sayings that everybody has heard, and the riding on broad pads and leaping over banners and through hoops were discard ed, as they rightly should be. In their plaees were substituted stirring races that roared the whole being into enthusiasm and tightened the nerves to Uteir utmost tension through axoitement. There wax something fresh in the ring all th. time. Many ware pleased with the Iudiaos play ing ball, in war dances and enacting John Smith and Pooaboutaa, but Indiana ware never a matter of any interest to ns. The walking fent of Mr. Jamas Smith was ad- mirabls. Ifo beat an elephaot driven around tha rpig at Its utmost tpaad. Ha then walked around it twiee while a thor oughbred horse traversed it at.a swift gal lop three times, and walked backwards faster than the most rapid ametear aould walk, ovon with occasional running. The wire walking was good; so was the bar performance, and tbo sack and leaping racing funny. The racing was the attrartion. Those between the two and the four bars chari ots. Tba posy chaises, and the three thorough bred borseR, were thrilling in effect. People stood on seats through ex citement. The contest between the two men riding two boraoa baro haek was startling. Two burses fell and rolled over tbo rider, bnt he rose uninjured, and get ting his steeds np remounted and won the race. The hnrdlo raoe between two ladies and an attendant joeky was also splendid. They do not send thoir horses around in a trot or gallop as is ordinarily done. The track is one-ilfth of a mile In extent, and the animals are sent around tt with whip and spnr to their utmost •peed. A “feller" feels like going ltis whole pile on flying steeds. We have never yet beheld a ring performance that so absorbs tbs wbolo lining with startling sensations. There was u constant change and novelty. The monagorie is nnimportaut. While thus praising the performance, we roost ask the managers to look after the men who band sronnd refreshments. An Aldormnn bad to threaten one with arrest before be wonld return his change, and this was the complaint to ns of sev- oral oilier citizens. Tito management should not allow their splendid perform, anoe to be mined by each oondnat Tbo company goes to Dadoville, Ala. to-day, then to Opelika and then to Selma. XMM NQMTU A MOUTH MAI LUO A V. That **7,000 Judgment Talueleet-Puelt OMsIsW from Me Open •/ Ike Company—A Mump, tsl DsrlMm itewd. LOCAL BMIMPS. A telegram in oar yesterday's edition from New York stated that “Adolphus Schaeffer had gotten judgment against the North and South Bailroed for *87,- 000." The fools of this case are neces sary to this section, and the former offi cers give thorn as follows: Whan tha company tint attempted to negotiate their bonds in New York, the management met with this man, who claimed to have infloenoe end ability lo plaee them. A conditional agreement was made to the effect that any offer for the bonds that Schaeffer might make, sbonld be lubmltted to tho Board of Director* of the North and South Bailroad; and if the trade was agreod to by them then, S. should have a certain per cent. Schaeffer reported one offer for the bonds which the board rejected, whereupon be oom menoed this suit, and attached a lot of the bonds of the road, then in the hands of tho trustees in New York. The suit was postponed front lime to time, and finally parties living North, who erere intereeted in the bonds, and wanted them released, went forward and gave the name and security of real oastste holders in New York for doable the amount of S.’e elaim. The noxt time the ease was celled, Schaeffer’s attorneys dismissed the ease as to these securities, thereby practically acknowledging the weekness of his claim. Until tbo seizure of the road by tbo State, the magsment always stood ready to defend the suit, knowing that had no valid claim, and believing that it was pnrely an effort at biaok mail. 1'be road having been seized by tbo Governor of the State, the judgment is perfectly valueless.
