To the Uoldero of Tiehoto to the Grand Gift Concert of the Maoonie Relief Atooelmtion of Nsrfblh, To. Office of the Masonic Relief Asso-) ciation of Norfolk. Va., > * Norfolk, Nov. 18, 1874. ) The Board of Directors of this Associ ation, feeling assured that the patrons of their enterprise and the public generally are satisfied that in its management the interests of all concerned will be strictly guarded, with honesty and fairness; and relying upon the belief that all who hive aided us in our effort to complete the Ma sonic Temple in this city, are willing to rely upon our judgment as to the expedi ency of another postponement for a few days, notwithstanding our announcement that the Conoert would positively be given on the 19th instant, have decided that a short delsy will be more satisfac tory to all holders of tickets than to have a partial drawing on Thursday next. The following reasons hive induced us to this notion: First—While our receipts have been large, they have not been of sufficient amount to enable ns to give a full draw< ing. Becond—A drawing on the 19th inst. would not yield enough to accomplish the object for which our Association was or ganised and chartered; and, Third—The encouragement which we have received convinces us that in forty days more we shall, witbont failure, give drawing which in its results will be nc ceptable to all our friends. We have therefore fixed npon TUESDAY, DECEMBER 29m, ss the day when the Concert and distri bution will take place, whether all the tickets are sold or not, or the money will be refunded upon application and prcscu tation of the tiokets at the Agency where purchased. The bell to be placed in the tower of the colored Baptiat church arrived yester day from the foundry at New York. Some colored men came into tho office last night to toll us how a Mr. Watts, ool ored, had been treated at this church. From their account it seems that this Watts is s blind man, who (ravels around the country with solve sort of a pano ramic show. He is a Methodist, and had preached in that church. Now, those men said he had given out his text in the Baptist churoh, when some oolored man camo up, took his arm and led him out. There was no noise or disturbance. They said he had been invited to preach by a deacon whom they couldn’t name, and tho other offioers declined to have their church used by one whom neither the body of deacons nor tho pastor hiul in vited, in fact whom they didn’t oven de sire to have preach.
